Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree and Police Chief Announce the Swearing-in and Appointment of Four New Police Officers

(Saugus, MA) July 13, 2020 – Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree and Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli are pleased to announce the swearing-in and appointment of four new police officers at the Saugus Police Department: Officers Jacob Roy, Nolan Dipanfilo, Paul Bridges and Jake Aldred.

The officers were sworn into their new roles on Thursday, July 9, 2020.  The officers attended and graduated from the North Essex Community College Police Academy located in Haverhill.

“I am proud to announce the appointment of Officers Roy, Dipanfilo, Bridges and Aldred to the Saugus Police Department,” said Town Manager Crabtree. “I congratulate all of them and their families for their hard work.  These officers’ clear commitment to public safety and extensive training through the Police Academy will be a great asset to the Town, and I wish them the best success in their new roles.”

Officer Roy served in the United States Navy from 2011-2015, during which time he received the following medals for his outstanding service: Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, First Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Roy holds his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Endicott College.

Officer Dipanfilo holds an associate’s degree and is working towards his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Salem State College. He is also a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School.

Officer Bridges holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. 

Officer Aldred is a graduate of Northeast Metropolitan Regional High School, and he attended North Shore Community College from 2014 to 2015.

“I am happy to warmly welcome Officers Roy, Dipanfilo, Bridges and Aldred to the Saugus Police Department,” said Chief Ricciardelli. “These new officers have demonstrated their strong work ethic and dedication to public safety and service, and we are excited for them to begin their careers by serving and protecting the community.”
