Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree Announces Appointment of Alexander Mello as Town’s New Senior Planner

(Saugus, MA) December 12, 2019 – Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander C. Mello as Saugus’ new Senior Planner. Mello began in his new role early last month.

Mello offers a wealth of experience in the field of planning and development, as well as municipal government. He most recently worked as the Zoning Case Review Planner in the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development in Somerville. Prior to that he worked as the Planner/Land Use Administrator in the City of Chelsea’s Department of Planning and Development. Mello also serves as the Associate Program Planner for the Town of Framingham’s Planning Board, and he is a member of the American Association of Planning’s Massachusetts chapter.

Mello holds his Master’s Degree in Regional Planning and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Design with a concentration in Urban Studies, both from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

“I am pleased to welcome Alexander to his new role as Senior Planner for the Town of Saugus,” said Town Manager Crabtree. “Alexander possesses a great deal of experience in planning and development and knowledge of municipal planning, which will be beneficial for the residents of Saugus and the community as a whole.”
