Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree and Police Chief Domenic DiMella Announce Appointment of New Police Officers
(Saugus, MA) May 2, 2018 – Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree and Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella are pleased to announce the appointment of four new police officers at the Saugus Police Department: Officers Christopher Zelinski, Renato Defreitas, Brittany Naumann, and Nicola Fabrizio.
The Officers were recently sworn into their new roles at the Town Hall, with members of the department, Town hall staff, family, and friends in attendance to show their support.
“I am proud to appoint Officers Zelinski, Defreitas, Naumann, and Fabrizio to the Saugus Police Department,” said Town Manager Crabtree. “These officers will be a great asset to the Town and I wish them the best success in their new positions.”
Officer Zelinski was previously employed with North Hampton Police Department in New Hampshire. He is certified as an EMT and he holds his Bachelor of Arts degree from Salem State University with a concentration in American Studies and a minor in biology.
Officer Defreitas currently serves in the United States Naval Reserves. He has received several medals and citations during his career with the Navy. He currently attends Bunker Hill Community College where he majors in Information Technology Security.
Officers Naumann and Fabrizio were previously employed as civilian dispatchers for the Town of Saugus. Officer Naumann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College. Officer Fabrizio holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a concentration in crime and justice from Suffolk University.
Chief DiMella is happy to welcome to new officers to the force.
“Officers Christopher Zelinski, Renato Defreitas, Brittany Naumann, and Nicola Fabrizio did very well in the Police Academy and I am impressed with all four new officers,” said Chief DiMella. “They will be a great addition to the Saugus Police Department and they look forward to protecting and serving the citizens of Saugus.”
