Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree Announces Appointment of Additional Public Health Nurse Teresa Riley-Singh to Help Prevent the Potential Spread of COVID-19  and Prioritize the Health and Safety of the Residents of Saugus

(Saugus, MA) January 7, 2021 – Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree announces the appointment of an additional Public Health Nurse to assist the Saugus Health Department and Board of Health in their continued collaborative efforts with Town and Public Safety Officials to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the community and prioritize the health and safety of the residents of Saugus during this ongoing global pandemic.  Teresa Riley-Singh recently started her new post and training at the end of 2020.  

Teresa R. Riley-Singh, a Registered Nurse, is a highly-qualified public and private health professional with 15 years of experience in the field. She will assist the community’s Health Director and Board of Health in better supporting and aiding the public during these extraordinary times.

“We are happy to welcome Teresa as an additional Public Health Nurse for the Town of Saugus,” said Town Manager Crabtree. “Teresa holds extensive experience in and advanced knowledge of public health and nursing, which will make her an asset to our community, residents and employees, especially during these unprecedented times.”

Riley-Singh previously worked as a Registered Nurse for Phillips Academy, Melrose Public Schools and East Boston Health Clinic. She also served as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Burn Unit at Shriners Hospital for Children and as an Assistant Nurse Manager at Monte Nido Center for Eating Disorders.

Riley-Singh is currently working towards obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Bay Path University and she holds an Associate of Nursing Degree from North Shore Community College. She is certified in the ICU and as a Provider of Basic Life Support. In addition, Riley-Singh holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Saint Michael’s College, and she studied African Literature at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
