Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree Opts to Help Saugus Taxpayer’s by Extending Due Date to Pay Real and Personal Property Tax until June 1, 2020

(Saugus, MA) April 13, 2020 – Saugus Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree looking to help Saugus taxpayer by extending the due date for personal and real estate taxes until June 1st.  Crabtree is using a local option to address challenges for local taxpayers resulting from the COVID-19 Crisis. 

The due date of your real and personal property tax bill has been extended to June 1, 2020.  June 1, 2020 is the new due date even if the due date for payment on your previously mailed tax bill is May 1, 2020.

The due date for applications for property tax exemptions has also been extended to June 1, 2020.  June 1, 2020 is the new due date even if the due date for applications or previously mailed tax bill is May 1, 2020.

All interest and other penalties for late payment of any excise, tax, betterment assessment or apportionment thereof, water rate or sewer use or other charge added to a tax for any payments with a due date on or after March 10, 2020 are hereby waived where payment is made late but before June 30, 2020.

“These are tough times for all of us here in Saugus, we need to continue to work as a community and stay healthy and safe.  We will get through this together,” stated Crabtree.
