As we follow the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the health and safety of our employees and residents remains our top priority. The Town Hall has been closed to the public effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 and we are trying to minimize the effect to the Saugus residents with respect to paying their taxes.
Payments can continue to be made in the following manner:
- Online with the Unipay online payment system
- Drop off in the white payment box located in front of the Town Hall.
- Through the US Postal Service
All payments made by any means will be credited to your account as of the date that the Town of Saugus receives it.

The role of the Collector/Treasurer’s Office within the Town of Saugus is two fold. The Collector’s Office is responsible for the collection of all taxes such as Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle Excise, and Boat Excise as well as Water and Sewer user charges and Parking Violations.
The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for receiving, recording, and investing all funds resulting from the collection of taxes, water/sewer charges as well as other various types of fees collected by other Town offices. Those may include but are not limited to state receipts, grants, licensing and permitting fees, filing fees, violations, school lunch receipts, scholarships, or donations. The Treasurer reports all cash received to the Town Accountant who then uses that information to prepare the Town’s operating budget.
