The Saugus DPW also has a 24-hour emergency phone that includes holidays, nights and weekends at (781) 233-2422.

The DPW also maintains the compost area behind the Public Works every Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Starting in April - December. This is for Saugus residents only. Must show proof of residence when purchasing sticker for $25. Must be check or money order, no cash will be accepted.

Street sweeping is done annually starting in the spring. Sweeping starts with Precinct 1 thru 10. Sweeping usually lasts 4-5 weeks ending before Memorial Day.

Although DPW does maintain the water and sewer systems here in Saugus, all billing for these utilities is carried out by the Treasurer's office located at Town Hall.
